Highlights of Economic Survey of Himachal Pradesh 2017-18

Economic Survey of Himachal Pradesh presented by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in Assembly. He laid down economic scenario of Himachal Pradesh in 2017-18. Highlights of Economic Survey of Himachal Pradesh 2017-18

  • The State Gross Domestic Product (GSDP) at factor cost at current prices, is estimated at 1, 24,236 crore in 2016-17 increase of 9.6 percent.
  • At constant (2011-12) prices in 2016-17 is estimated at 1,02,954 crore as against 96,274 crore in 2015-16 registering a growth of 6.9 percent.
  • Gross Value Added (GVA) at basic prices witnessed a growth of 7.1 percent during 2016-17 (Base 2011-12) against the growth rate of 8.2 percent during the previous year.
  • The per capita income at current prices is estimated at 1,03,870 in 2016-17 as against 94,731 for the previous year recording an increase of 9.6 percent.
  • The per capita income in real terms i.e at 2011-12 prices, is estimated at 82,229 for 2016- 17 as against 77,826 in 2015-16 registering an increase of 5.7 percent.
  • The growth rate for the fiscal year 2017-18 is expected around 6.5 percent
  • Wholesale Price Index (WPI), remained below 3 percent in the most part of the current financial year 2017-18
  • The economy of the State is expected to achieve a growth rate 6.3 percent in the current financial year .
  • Food-grains production, which was 16.34 lakh MT during 2015-16 has increased to 17.45 lakh MT during 2016-17
  • During the year 2017-18 up to December, 2017, 5.00 lakh tons of fruits were produced in the state.
  • The share of industries and services sectors respectively 25.2 and 44.0 percent in 2016-17.
  • Off-season vegetables – 16.54 lakh tons of vegetables were produced.
  • Tourist Arrived – 196.02 Lakh
  • Information Technology – The HIMSWAN provides various G2G, G2C, G2B, e-Procurement and e-Samadhan etc. systems to bring efficiency and transparency in administration.
  • The annual plan for 2018-19 has been proposed at 6,300.00 crore which will be 10.5 percent higher.
  • Under Smart City Mission Municipal Corporation Shimla has also been approved by Government of India.
  • Under “Public Service Guarantee Act 183 services in 25 departments has been implemented for efficient and timely solutions.
  • Social security Pension increased from 650 to 700 per month.
  • Restructured weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme(R-WBCIS).
  • 156.19 hectares has been brought under flower cultivation.
  • 10,519 MW hydro power has been harnessed out of 27,436 MW identified potential which comes out to 38.34 percent.

  • Rajiv Awaas Yojana
  • Matri Shakti Bima Yojna all women in the age group of 10-75 years.
  • Lal Bahadur Shastri Kamgar Avam Shahari Ajivika Yojna
  • A programme named PRAYAS PLUS has been started in all upper primary schools for the popularization and innovation in Science and Math.
  • “BETI HAI ANMOL Yojna”
  • Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojna
  • Mata Shabri Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojna.
  • Pradhan Mantri Matru vandana Yojna(PMMVY), a cash incentive of `5,000/- is being provided directly in the account of Pregnant women and Lactating Mothers for first living child.
  • Mother Teressa Asahay Matri Sambal Yojana
  • Lok Mitra Kendras & e-services under e-district launched in all 12 districts.
